TREATMENT OPTIONS

Each and every year Dr. Rankie exceeds his required amount of continuing education so that he can provide his patients with cutting edge treatment.

INVISALIGN

ImgImagine moving your teeth without braces. Dr. Rankie has lectured nationally and internationally on Invisalign treatment. If you are a candidate for Invisalign treatment Dr. Rankie will create a three-dimensional image of your teeth and bite. He will then digitally move your teeth on the computer to setup an ideal bite and a beautiful smile. After Dr. Rankie is satisfied with the computer result Invisalign will create a series of clear plastic aligners that Dr. Rankie will use to give you a fantastic result without braces.

Often my adult patients are surprised at just how easy it is to correct something that has been bothering them for years.

SELF-LIGATING BRACES

At White Mountain Orthodontics we use the latest technology in brackets and wires including the Damon braces. Self-ligating braces eliminate the need for the elastic ties used with traditional braces. Studies have shown that self-ligating braces are more hygienic, move teeth faster, and result in less discomfort compared to traditional braces. In addition, Dr. Rankie’s treatment philosophy is very progressive and he is often able to resolve even the worst crowding without extractions using the most modern braces and orthodontic appliances.

ESTHETIC BRACES

Dr. Rankie is pleased to offer clear esthetic self-ligating braces. Similar to the metal versions these brackets offer all the benefits described above while blending into the color of the tooth for a much more esthetic look during treatment. If esthetics during treatment is a concern, Dr. Rankie will gladly place clear brackets on your upper front teeth.

EARLY TREATMENT

Img

In some instances early or “interceptive” treatment is indicated in children as young as six years old. In these instances the goal of treatment is to prevent or minimize orthodontic issues at a later age. The American Associan of Orthodontics recommends that all children visit an orthodontist by age seven. Most patients of this age do not require treatment until they are much older but if indicated Dr. Rankie believes strongly in interceptive treatment to minimize the need for surgery or potentially damaging impactions later in life.
